WEEKEND ROUNDUP 2007 AT THE BAR H

Saturday, October 13 was a picture perfect shoot day for the first day of the Canadian River Regulators Weekend Roundup.  The weekend roundup celebrates another year of cowboy action shooting and fun at the range location, the Bar H Dude and Game Ranch at Clarendon, Texas.

Thirty-six shooters representing the Texas Panhandle, Southwest Kansas, North Dakota,  Germany, and England registered to shoot the roundup's first day. This was also the fourth year for Wolf Niederastroth of Germany to participate in the weekend events.  This was also the first time for Alan from England to participate in a cowboy action shoot. Cowboy action shooting is a family affair, and the Regulators continue to exemplify this tradition with two grandfathers and their grandsons participating in this year's events plus five families and four couples.  The event also drew a lot of observers throughout the two days of activities.

The Canadian River Regulators continue to show that cowboy action shooting is a family event as this year's weekend roundup saw grandfathers and grandsons, fathers and sons, husbands and wives, fathers and daughters participate in the two day event. Cactus Starr and Slippery Dick pose for a picture.  Cactus added a new piece to her costume--a lumbar belt.  It cut the pain from the sprained back muscles but sure made it difficult to pick up brass.

In CAS a part of what a lot of the shooters and participants enjoy is the costuming.  Darlin Dumplin definitely is into the "spirit of the game" with her southern belle dress.
